New Talents, Alterations, and Analysis in Wrath of the Lich

Cheap WoW WOTLK Classic Gold

As the upcoming expansion for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, is about to be released next month, many of the changes are being revealed ahead of time. One of the most anticipated changes are the new talents that each class will gain.

In Wrath of the Lich King, The Warrior Talent Trees have undergone several interesting changes. Each tree--Arms, Fury, and Protection, have had their talents adjusted, hopefully to the player¡¯s benefit. Below is a review of the Talent changes to the Fury Tree including the excellent new Talent, Titan¡®s Grip. Please note that these Talents are subject to change before the release of Wrath of the Lich King.

Fury Tree Tier One

  • Booming Voice--Now increases effect and duration of your shouts by 25%, with two ranks available to 50%. An upgrade on a mediocre talent that is only useful in raids.
  • Armored to the Teeth--Increases your Strength by 1 for every 400 Armor the Warrior has. A very useful talent for Protection Warriors (Tanks).

Fury Tree Tier Two

  • No Changes

Fury Tree Tier Three

  • Blood Craze--Now regenerates 2% of total health after being hit with a critical strike. Three ranks to 6%. The effect is twice what it used to be, a very nice increase.

Fury Tree Tier Four

  • Enrage--Now gives a 30% chance to add a damage bonus of 2% for 12 seconds after being damaged. Five ranks to 10% maximum. Enrage also causes the player to become ¡°enraged,¡± which allows access to other abilities. Enrage is no longer the prerequisite to Flurry.

Fury Tree Tier Five

  • Improved Slam--Now part of the Arms Talent Tree.
  • Precision--Now part of Tier Five instead of Tier Seven. A very important Talent for a Fury Warrior.
  • Death Wish--Now part of the Fury Talent Tree. It no longer removes and provides immunity to Fear effects. Sources differ, but Death Wish may also be an ¡°enrage¡± ability. Death Wish is now the prerequisite for Bloodthirst. Death Wish is a great addition to the Fury Talent Tree, a tree that thrives on doing as much damage as possible.

Fury Tree Tier Six

  • Improved Berserker Rage--Now generates 10 rage when used. Two ranks to 20. Effectively becomes a Bloodrage without the loss of Health.

Fury Tree Tier Seven

  • Intensify Rage--Reduces the cool down time of Bloodrage, Berserker Rage, Death Wish, and Recklessness by 11%. Three ranks to 33%. Fury Warriors rely on doing most of their damage on ¡°normal¡± melee attacks. These four abilities are very important to that, either producing rage, or give damage and critical hit bonuses. Reducing the cool down on them is an excellent idea.
  • Bloodthirst--Now the five attacks after using Bloothirst regenerate 1.5% of your maximum health each instead of 10 health. This makes Bloodthirst the equivalent of drinking a Healing Potion.
  • Improved Whirlwind--Now increases the damage from Whirlwind by 10%. Two ranks to 20% maximum. Fury Warriors use Whirlwind much of the time for high burst damage, as opposed to Heroic Strike. Extra damage is always welcome.

Fury Tree Tier Eight

  • Furious Attacks--Normal melee attacks have a 50% chance of reducing a target¡¯s healing by 25%. Two ranks to 100%. This is the Fury Tree¡¯s answer to Mortal Strike, and makes a Fury Warrior very promising in PvP and Battlegrounds.

Fury Tree Tier Nine

  • Heroic Fury--Removes all immobilization effects and refreshes Intercept. A must for PvP and Battlegrounds. The secret weapon of this Talent Tree against other players.
  • Rampage--Now the Warrior¡¯s critical hits increase the critical hit percentage of all party members within 45 years by 5% for 10 seconds. Rampage is now a passive effect, so your critical hits will automatically increase your percentage. A nice Talent, especially for raids.
  • Bloodsurge--When the Warrior gets a critical hit with Bloodthirst on, he has a 33% chance of making his next Slam an Instant Attack for 5 seconds. This makes a Warrior¡¯s critical hits even more dangerous. A Fury Warrior almost always has Bloodthirst on, so now every critical hit gives him a free Slam. An example of excellent coordination in Talents.

Fury Tree Tier Ten

  • Unending Fury--Reduces the rage cost of Slam, Whirlwind, and Bloodthirst by 1. Five ranks to 5%. A Fury Warrior should be overflowing with rage, so this Talent is not necessary.

Fury Tree Tier Eleven

  • Titan¡¯s Grip--The Warrior can use a two-handed weapon in each hand. Also reduces the hit percentage of damage dealing abilities (Heroic Strike, Whirlwind, Rend, etc.) that require a weapon by 15%. The buzz around this Talent is deafening. The damage potential of Titan¡¯s Grip would make the Fury Warrior one of the most damaging Talent Builds of any class. The 15% reduction on damaging abilities is daunting, but as mentioned above, the Fury Warrior relies on normal attacks, not special ones.

The Warrior¡¯s Fury Talent is now the premier damage dealer for the Warrior class, no longer just the realm of the Orcish savage. The synergy between Bloodthirst, Bloodsurge, and Slam is brilliant, and creates a Fury Warrior¡¯s own version of the ¡°Slam Rotation¡± (the rotation of normal attack, Slam, and Mortal Strike to maximize damage). Expect to see many Warriors running around with two-handed weapons in each hand from now on.
